Fish Tales
Someone once said, “golf is a good walk spoiled.” But when it comes to fishing, most people agree, “a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.”
For many years, trout fishing on the world-class Arkansas rivers has been an integral part of the RCA experience. A chance to enjoy a change of pace, do some family bonding, and—since you’re there—catch some fish.
In the long run, it’s not about the fish. It’s about waking up while it’s still dark, having an old fashioned breakfast you’d never eat at home, getting out on the river before dawn, and spending hours just being there, feeling the sun on your back, listening to the water, and smelling the crisp, cool air. Talking is optional.
At the end of the day, there’s the smell of burning logs and the warmth of a fire, the taste of a grilled steak, and an evening of fish tales taller than the trees. Maybe some picking and grinning with banjoes and guitars. Followed by bunkhouse accommodations and earplugs to keep out the sound of snoring.
Fishing is timeless. And the more the trips may change, the more they will always be the same.
